At Poba Medical, we are proud to build a thriving and collaborative work culture. We are fortunate to attract incredible talent with diverse backgrounds and personalities who share our vision and desire to make a positive difference in the world. Tom Cox is one of our many stellar employees whose professional excellence is demonstrated by his tireless pursuit of knowledge, ambitious nature, and team-oriented approach, making him a perfect fit for Poba.

Tom has recently joined our team as a Catheter Engineering Technician. From day one, he has embraced the challenges of taking on a new position and thoroughly enjoyed working with his coworkers. “They are a talented and dedicated group that I enjoy being around and learning from,” he says.

From Machine Solutions To Poba Medical

Before joining the Poba Medical team, Tom spent over 14 years at Machine Solutions Inc. (MSI) in Flagstaff, Arizona. He started as a manufacturing machine builder in 2005, excelled at machine and head assembly, and rapidly became an internal champion for lean manufacturing initiatives. Dan Kasprzyk, CEO of Poba Medical, and founder of MSI, still remembers Tom’s contributions to the startup: “Tom’s detail-oriented approach was instrumental in the operational growth of Machine Solutions from a small company capable of producing 25-30 machines per year to the company capable of producing thousands of machines annually in its current state.”

Tom is a perfect fit for his new role thanks to his 34 years of production and manufacturing experience. His primary responsibilities are to work with engineers first in developing the processes needed to assemble specialty catheters and then continue with the assembly of the catheters. Whether entering customer assembly SOPs into the system or assembling catheters, he is excited to tackle whatever his workday brings his way.

Born And Raised In Nebraska, Tom Has Love For His Community And The Outdoors

Tom is from a small farming & ranching community in southwest Nebraska called Imperial. Growing up on his parent’s farm allowed him to develop an appreciation for the outdoors, and he became an avid mountain biker later in life. “Mountain biking and hiking are at the top of my list, but any activity to get me outside is a big part of my life.”

After attending college in Nebraska, Tom left his home state and spent a brief period in Colorado Springs before settling in Arizona - first in Phoenix and then in Flagstaff for the last 15 years. He has been happy to call the great state of Arizona his home for the past 31 years and looks forward to continuing to pursue his passions and volunteering. “Being a volunteer as a cancer fighter for Cancer Treatment Centers of America and seeing the courage that these folks must deal with cancer inspires me daily.”

Tom’s long-term goals include continuing to grow and contribute to the success of Poba. He is grateful for the opportunity to “learn a whole new form of manufacturing” and looks forward to helping take the company to the next level.
